| A Midsummer Night's Dream |
|
Event Description Come see students perform Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream at SOPAC in South Orange.
The show will be performed Thursday 25th, Friday 26th, and Saturday 27th at 8p.m. and Sunday 28th at 2p.m.
One of Shakespeare’s great comedies, the play revolves around the adventures of four young lovers, a group of amateur actors and their interactions with the fairies who inhabit a moonlit forest.
The story takes place in Midsummer, just prior to the marriage of the Duke of Athens and the Queen of the Amazons. The romantic intrigues of four young Athenian lovers are complicated by entering the forest over which Oberson, the King of the Fairies, and this Queen, Titania, preside. Other visitors to the enchanted forest include amateur dramatists Bottom the Weaver and his friends Snug, Snout, Quince and Flute who want to rehearse their terrible but hilarious version of the play Pyramus and Thisbe. Always a delightful adventure at any time of year! |
